Rules for Scholarships and Scholars

It is mandatory to deliver, at the Secretary of the Graduate Program in Special Education (PPGEES) of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), the annual report of the graduate student's activities, duly signed by the advisor, mainly highlighting the scientific productivity in the period . The obligation even affects postgraduate students in an internship abroad. It should be noted that the delivery of this report must be carried out until the first fortnight of January of each year.

Requirements established for completing this annual report.

Master's students

The payment of credits in subjects must be made within a maximum period of 12 (twelve) months, counted from the date of enrollment in the Course (Article 33 of the PPGEES/UFSCar Internal Regulation in force);

  • Present, annually, publication of at least one work (abstract, expanded abstract, full article with or without annals) in scientific events or journals with qualification and ISBN;
  • The deadline for sending the research project to the Ethics Committee in Research with Human Beings, if necessary, as well as its approval will be 12 (twelve) months, counted from the date of registration;
  • The deadline for carrying out the Qualification Exam will be 18 (eighteen) months, counting from the date of enrollment in the Course (Article 41 of the PPGEES/UFSCar Internal Regulations in force);
  • In order to obtain the title of Master in Special Education (area of concentration in Education of the Special Individual) the scholarship holder must present publication, approval or proof of submission of at least one article in a qualified scientific journal. Qualified journals are those classified as A1, A2, B1, B2, B3, B4 or B5, in Qualis CAPES journals for Education (Article 55 of the PPGEEs/UFSCar Internal Regulation in force).
  • Participation in extracurricular activities (meetings, congresses, lectures, selection processes, commissions, among others) requested by PPGEEs;
  • Participation in at least one scientific event, during the year, in the areas of knowledge related to Special Education or in similar areas;

Sole Paragraph: The student granted a scholarship who does not meet these requirements will have the scholarship cancelled.

Doctoral students

  • The fulfillment of credits in subjects must be done within a maximum period of 24 (twenty-four) months, counting from the date of enrollment in the Course (Article 33 of the PPGEES/UFSCar Internal Regulation in force);
  • Present, annually, publication of at least two works (abstract, expanded abstract, full article with or without proceedings) in scientific events; or journals with qualification and ISBN;
  • The deadline for sending the research project to the Ethics Committee in Research with Human Beings, if necessary, as well as its approval will be 18 (eighteen) months, counted from the date of registration;
  • The deadline for taking the Qualification Exam will be 30 (thirty) months, counting from the date of enrollment in the Course (Article 41 of the PPGEES/UFSCar Internal Regulation in force);
  • In order to obtain the title of Doctor in Special Education (specialty in Education for the Special Individual) the scholarship holder must present publication, approval or proof of submission of at least two articles in a qualified scientific journal. Qualified journals are those classified as A1, A2, B1, B2, B3, B4 or B5, in Qualis CAPES journals for Education (Article 55 of the PPGEEs/UFSCar Internal Regulations in force).
  • Participation in extracurricular activities (meetings, congresses, lectures, selection processes, commissions, among others) requested by PPGEEs;
  • Participation in at least two scientific events, during the year, in the areas of knowledge related to Special Education or in similar areas;

Mention of Support Received from CAPES
