Collections

The UFSCar Community Library (external link) is entirely connected to the INTERNET and provides users with access to databases and various reference works, with connections to national and international networks, favoring and enabling access to up-to-date information and diversified.

The collection of books and periodicals used by the Program is also centralized in the Library and has the main books and periodicals in the area. The current collection has approximately 8,000 book titles in the area of Education and Special Education and 4,780 titles in the area of Psychology, many of which have been acquired through FAP-Livros (FAPESP).

With regard to periodicals, UFSCar is part of the consortium of all São Paulo universities and FAPESP is part of the Electronic Library Program (PROBE). Through this program, UFSCar, as an associate, has access to the main databases of all areas, which are acquired by the consortium and made available by FAPESP. This system has made it possible to establish priorities for the renewal of journals, directing them to the acquisition of those not yet available in PROBE. However, the literature made available by PROBE in the area of Human Sciences, in general, is still insufficient, which increases the need for financial resources for the program to update its collection of periodicals.

Added to this ease of access are the innovations offered by FAPESP and CAPES by making hundreds of national and international journals available to researchers for online access, at the addresses:
